Learning Together Program
CLUES’ Learning Together Program (LTP) establishes a culturally proficient environment where parents receive knowledge and information in their native language while developing a supportive social network focused on their children's healthy development and educational achievement. Parents with children in elementary school learn how to navigate and access fundamental resources, such as their children's school system, health programs, legal resources, financial services, and community programs. When their children continue on to middle and high school level, both the parents and students take with them an ongoing support network. Through participation in the LTP, Latino families are provided with consistent guidance to navigate the school system as their students make the transition between elementary, middle, and high school; Latino parents become empowered as active partners in their children's educational journies as they support them to achieve academic success and attend institutions of higher education; and most importantly, Latino students are equipped with the skills to achieve academic success and attend institutions of higher education. Drawing of the vast opportunities and supports offered in our communities for the benefit of families and youth, the Learning Together Program directly addresses the academic achievement gap that Latinos in Minnesota experience by creating educational supports for Latino parents to accelerate their learning and involvement in their children’s educations.
