Canasta Familiar is a free food distribution program that includes fresh produce (fruits and vegetables), meat and other non-perishable items.

Each week, Canasta Familiar receives donations of food and fresh produce for families throughout our service area. Foods vary according to availability.

CLUES is partnering with Valley Outreach in the work of building healthy, hunger-free communities. Funding is provided by Greater Twin Cities United Way and United Health Group.

Why is it important?

One in six Latino households in the U.S. struggle with hunger, and nearly one in four Latino children is at risk of hunger (Feeding America). The CLUES Canasta Familiar is designed to help families gain access to the healthy foods they need to live a full and healthy life.

For whom?

  • This program is open and available to CLUES participants and the broader community.
  • Families will be able to choose their food and select the items that are most appropriate for their home.
  • There is a limit of one basket per family.

How do you register?

Food is provided on a first-come, first-served basis from 5-7 pm each Monday. We begin forming the line and handing out numbers at 4:30 pm. There is no pre-registration.
